Cookie Policy

What cookies OpenMaison uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience. OpenMaison uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the platform.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
qanvast_session | Authenticates your login session (HMAC-signed) | 24 hours |
qanvast_admin_session | Authenticates admin panel access | 24 hours |
hangout_session | Authenticates homeowner hangout access | 24 hours |
2.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies remember your preferences and choices to provide a personalised experience.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
NEXT_LOCALE | Stores your preferred language (EN/AR) | 1 year |
qanvast-theme | Stores your light/dark mode preference (localStorage) | Persistent |
qanvast-skin | Stores your selected theme skin (localStorage) | Persistent |
2.3 Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics and Mixpanel to understand how people find and use OpenMaison — which pages and features are used, where visitors come from, and which campaigns lead to sign-ups and purchases. When you are signed in, Mixpanel links this activity to your account (your name and email). Your phone number is never sent to either service. When a signed-in studio member uses the app, Mixpanel also records session replays (clicks, scrolling, and page changes) so we can improve the product — all on-screen text and every form field are masked, images and video are not recorded, and replays never run on client-facing links and portals. We also use Microsoft Clarity to record heatmaps and session replays of how visitors interact with pages, so we can spot confusing or broken flows. Clarity never runs on client-facing links and portals — signing, payment, quote, render-share, homeowner-portal, and other bearer-token pages — text and images are masked in every recording, and the opt-out below stops Clarity immediately, even mid-recording.
- _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics): tells visits apart; up to 2 years.
- mp_* (Mixpanel, stored in your browser): tells visits and sessions apart; until cleared.
- _clck, _clsk (Microsoft Clarity): tells visits and sessions apart; up to 1 year.
- om_ft, om_lt (OpenMaison): how you first and most recently reached us (campaign, referrer); 90 days.
- om_analytics (OpenMaison): remembers if you opted out of analytics; 1 year.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some features of the Service may set cookies from third-party services:
- Vercel Analytics: Performance monitoring and error tracking
- Google OAuth: When connecting Gmail for email lead ingestion, Google may set cookies during the OAuth flow
- Google Analytics (Google LLC): traffic and conversion measurement, including Google Ads conversions.
- Mixpanel (Mixpanel, Inc., United States; data stored in the European Union): product usage analytics and, for signed-in studio members, session replays.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation): heatmaps and session-replay analytics.
We do not sell your data. Analytics data is used to improve OpenMaison and to measure our own marketing.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete existing cookies
- Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
- Set preferences for specific websites
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using the Service, as they are required for authentication.
For functional preferences stored in localStorage (theme, skin), you can clear these through your browser's developer tools or site data settings.
You can also switch off Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Microsoft Clarity for this browser here:
Analytics is on in this browser.
Opting out applies to this browser going forward. Billing events for a subscription you started before opting out, or one managed by a teammate who has not opted out, are still recorded.
5. Cookie Lifespan
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them. Our authentication cookies expire after 24 hours, requiring you to log in again.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
7. Contact Us
